Bank Teller

Tellers at Bank of the Sierra are responsible for delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. As a key member of our team, you will handle transactions efficiently and accurately, responding to customer inquiries and providing account-related assistance.

• Process routine transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, cash advances, and loan payments.
• Maintain and balance a cash drawer daily, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
• Enter customer transactions into a computer system, issue receipts, and sell cashier's checks.
• Provide answers to customer inquiries, referring them to other bank services as needed.
• Complete special requests, such as closing accounts, exchanging currencies, and preparing cash orders.
• Place holds on accounts for new accounts, large deposits, or exception items, and prepare outgoing domestic and foreign wires.
• Comply with bank operations and security procedures, participating in dual-control functions and maintaining confidentiality.
• Promote strong customer relationships, participate in cross-selling, and offer new products and services.
• Demonstrate good risk management decisions, adhering to guidelines for fraud prevention and robbery.
• May be required to travel to other branch locations for coverage.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two or more years of experience in bank operations, new accounts, or credit assistant/loan positions.
• Excellent customer service skills, mathematical skills, and strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure as needed.
• Proficiency with computers, telephone, and office machinery.
