Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist PRN to join our team at Heart Hospital of Austin. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for gathering diagnostic information through the use of radioactive materials and sophisticated radiation detecting equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform Nuclear Medicine exams in a timely manner, documenting required information and communicating with primary physicians and direct care staff.
  • Coordinate and assist the care of patients assigned in collaboration with other technologists, physicians, nurses, and allied health staff.
  • Evaluate patient condition to adequately perform radiology exams.
  • Inform and explain procedures to patients, ensuring their cooperation.
  • Provide comprehensive direct patient care and maintain a safe and comforting environment.
  • Consult with other staff as necessary to meet patient and family needs.
  • Ensure availability and safe utilization of clinical equipment and supplies.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree from an approved Joint Review Committee on Education Program in Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent.
  • Certified as a Medical Radiologic Technologist by the Texas Medical Board (TMB).
  • Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (CNMT) or Certified in nuclear medicine by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (N).
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 6 months of employment start date.
