The Senior Security Engineer is an integral part of the Texas Dow Employees Credit Union Information Security Operations team. In this capacity, you will act as a cybersecurity specialist, concentrating on safeguarding services and enhancing cloud-based detection and response mechanisms. Your responsibilities will include planning, designing, developing, and executing cybersecurity best practices for both on-premises and cloud environments. You will take the lead in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all information security tools. Collaboration with the information security team, other IT departments, and technology vendors will be essential to establish and sustain a high-performing security operations program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, sustain, and enhance new and existing security technologies.
  • Identify capability gaps and assist in formulating the strategy and roadmap for the team.
  • Investigate, resolve, and follow up on issues related to endpoints, servers, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Conduct advanced threat hunting utilizing various security tools and methodologies.
  • Recognize current and emerging technology challenges, including security trends, vulnerabilities, and threats.
Required Qualifications: (Education, Licensure, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Education:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licensure / Certifications:

CISSP certification is mandatory; Azure, SANS, CCSK, CCSP, or equivalent certifications are preferred.

Experience:
  • A minimum of 10 years of technical experience is required, including over 7 years in information security.
  • Experience in at least one of the following roles: incident response, intrusion detection, penetration testing, application security, or vulnerability management.
  • At least 1 year of experience in cloud security engineering.
  • Ability to independently resolve technical issues.
  • Familiarity with NIST security standards.
  • Extensive background in information security and/or IT risk management with an emphasis on security, performance, and reliability.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Establish effective working relationships and collaborate with a diverse group of individuals. Interact professionally and provide guidance as necessary.
  • Prioritize and complete daily tasks while adhering to Texas Dow Employees Credit Union's specific Project Management standards.
  • Engage in planning, budgeting, and execution of security strategies.
