Aircraft Technician II Job Description

Job Summary:

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Technician II to join our team in GAC Westfield. As an Aircraft Technician II, you will be responsible for performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs of moderate to advanced complexity on aircraft systems and structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform Complex Aircraft Inspections and Repairs: Conduct thorough inspections and repairs of aircraft systems and structures with minimal supervision.
  2. Coordinate with Maintenance Teams: Collaborate with Maintenance Team Leaders, Shift Managers, and the Inspection Department to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements.
  3. Ensure Quality Standards: Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications.
  4. Identify and Store Customer Property: Properly identify and store customer property and equipment.
  5. Operate Ground Support Equipment: Follow standard operating procedures when operating ground support equipment.
  6. Coordinate Aircraft Movement: Coordinate and accomplish aircraft movement in hangar and ramp areas.
  7. Provide Training: Provide training to less experienced technicians.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Waste Management: Properly collect and dispose of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent rags.
  2. Lean Initiatives: Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean and uncluttered.
  3. Tool Maintenance: Properly use and maintain Company-provided tools and equipment.
  4. Safety Procedures: Comply with safety rules and procedures, use protective equipment as required, and be alert for unsafe conditions.
  5. Material Tracking: Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-offs, and to charge labor to correct work orders.
  6. Aircraft Certification: In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required.

Requirements:

  1. Working Knowledge: Working knowledge of the FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures.
  2. Language Skills: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
