Job Summary

The Dietary Aide - Server is a vital member of our dietary team at Prestige Care Lancaster. This role is responsible for assisting with food preparation, food service, and general duties of the dietary department.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the preparation of food and serve meals, snacks, and beverages using portion control and applicable sanitation practices.
  2. Deliver meals to resident rooms or tables and set up meal trays in accordance with dietary orders and tray cards, ensuring residents are served proper diet and food preferences in a timely manner.
  3. Keep the kitchen, dietary equipment, and dining room clean and sanitary at all times, including work areas and floors.
  4. Clean utensils, dishes, and pots and pans by operating the dishwasher or proper handwashing processes, ensuring dishwasher is working properly and at the appropriate temperature.
  5. Ensure proper storage, rotation, preparation, and labeling of food in accordance with State and local guidelines and Prestige policy, discarding outdated food.
  6. Partner with dietary staff to ensure equipment is working properly and at the appropriate temperature, recording temperature of equipment throughout shift as needed.
  7. Follow facility fire safety, infection control, and hazardous chemical practices, promptly reporting any unsafe conditions.
  8. Greet residents, visitors, and staff courteously and in a manner that respects dignity, meets confidentiality standards, and promotes resident and staff rights.
  9. Reset the dining room for the next meal and ensure supplies are available for upcoming meals.
  10. Assist in storing incoming food and supplies as assigned.
  11. Attend and participate in training, in-services, and staff meetings.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Must have Food Handler Permit as required by the State. Some High School education preferred.
