Traffic Control Specialist

Sanders Brothers Construction is seeking a skilled Traffic Control Technician to join our team. As a critical component of our operations, traffic control ensures the safety of our employees and the general public. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining safe lanes of traffic and monitoring traffic flow, often working nights and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain control of traffic safety and work zones in accordance with Department of Transportation and company safety guidelines.
- Stand for long periods, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to load and unload work zone equipment, sometimes weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Position temporary work zones using warning signs, traffic cones, barrels, etc., according to regulatory requirements.
- Drive the company vehicle to and from job sites in a safe manner.
- Stand and safely manage traffic control through active work zones while grasping a stop/slow paddle and utilizing radio communication.
- Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Keep the company vehicle clean and orderly, reporting any safety concerns or vehicle problems to management.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Perform any other general duties as specified.
- 1-3 years of traffic control experience.
- A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record, as defined by company policy.
- A negative drug test result prior to hire and throughout employment.
- Meet company employment standards regarding background checks.
- The ability to stand for long periods.
- Working rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Flagger Certification Training.
- Adaptability to varying work environments, including weather conditions.
