We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Estimator Specialist to join our team at CKD USA Corporation. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for analyzing customer drawings, specifications, and proposals to provide accurate and detailed cost estimates for our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Customers and Sales: Ensure all necessary documents for customer RFQs are received and documented, including drawings, specifications, CAD models, and directed-buy costs.
  • Determine Material and Labor Requirements: Determine material, machines, routings, labor, and process requirements for product cost estimates.
  • Create and Calculate Product Cost Estimates: Create and calculate product total cost estimates for sales and management to use for quoting, capacity planning, and tooling requirements.
  • Interact with Cross-Functional Teams: Interact with customers, sales, manufacturing engineering, purchasing, operations, finance, and others to obtain and provide information necessary to resolve issues and establish accurate estimates.
  • Establish Setup and Run Rates: Establish setup and run rates and related cost data for product cost estimates.
  • Enter Data into Quote Program: Enter all relevant data into a computerized quote program.
  • Present Formalized Cost Estimates: Present formalized cost estimates to sales for use in establishing selling prices to bid on future profitable work.
  • Support Customers with Ad-Hoc Cost Analysis Requests: Support customers with ad-hoc cost analysis requests for should-costs and cost transparency templates.
Requirements
  • Experience and Skills: 2-5 years of directly related experience, with experience evaluating BOMs against engineering drawings and working directly with manufacturing engineering for design for manufacturing.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills that enable engaging with suppliers for quotes that support cost estimation, strong negotiation skills, and experience working in an ERP system.
  • Understanding of Cost Accounting: Understanding of cost accounting principles and practices.
  • Manual Dexterity and Problem-Solving Skills: Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills to analyze complex data and make accurate estimates.
Education and Certification
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and a Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field related to industrial or mechanical engineering is strongly preferred.
