Role Overview

Your Career Path

As a Solutions Architect specializing in Prisma Cloud Security at Palo Alto Networks, you will be the expert on our cybersecurity solutions for major cloud platforms including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), as well as Containers and Serverless technologies. You will serve as the primary resource for customer engagements that go beyond standard Systems Engineering responsibilities.

This technical position directly supports sales objectives. Your success will be evaluated based on your expertise and your ability to drive customer success. Close collaboration with Product Management, Marketing, and Competitive Intelligence is essential to ensure we maintain our competitive edge.

Your Contributions

• Establish yourself as a trusted advisor to prospects and clients, collaborating with your Account Manager and local partners in your region.
• Engage in discussions regarding industry trends and significant changes in the security landscape that clients must consider.
• Develop strategies for migrating critical data, intellectual property, and high-demand applications to Public Cloud environments.
• Serve as the technical representative for Sales on all matters related to security and compliance in Public Cloud (Alicloud, AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform).
• Discuss competitive offerings in the market with credibility and effectively differentiate our solutions.
• Lead and support customer demonstrations alongside our System Engineers to showcase our value proposition.
• Interact with clients both locally and remotely in a persuasive and confident manner.
• Advocate for customers on any technical issues, ensuring follow-up until resolution.
• Write code/scripts as necessary or be open to learning.
• Provide design consultation and best practice mentorship during the pre-sales phase.
• Conduct technical demonstrations for strategic prospects and existing clients of Palo Alto Networks' virtual offerings and their integration into current data center environments.
• Assist in training new System Engineers in your region on customer presentations and internal deal preparation activities.
• Foster relationships with new Born-in-the-Cloud partners essential for acquiring new clients.
• Support the expansion of relationships with top existing partners in the Public Cloud sector.

Qualifications

Your Background

• Experience as a systems engineer, solutions architect, or systems integrator.
• Pre-sales experience is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding and expertise in tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub, etc.).
• Knowledge of API-based security and compliance standards, as well as Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems and scripting.
• Excellent analytical skills to assess complex multivariate issues and develop systematic solutions, often under pressure.
• Effective time-management skills.
• Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud, including installation, configuration, and administration of security features and services.
• Proficiency in cloud networking models, connectivity, network security, virtualization, and cloud computing.
• Hands-on experience with customers, positioning, demonstrating, configuring, and troubleshooting network infrastructure security products.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% within the designated region, with potential international travel as needed.
• Programming experience in languages such as NodeJS, Ruby, Chef, Puppet, YAML, JSON, or Python.
• Experience working with Channel partners and understanding a channel-centric go-to-market strategy.
• Background in companies within the enterprise networking security sector.
• In-depth understanding of exploits, malware, ransomware, and their mechanisms.

The compensation for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $192,000/yr to $264,000/yr. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found.
