Position Overview: As a Mechanical Systems Supervisor, you will lead and coordinate the efforts of subcontractors and Turner trade labor concerning mechanical systems within the project scope. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring safety, timely delivery, quality workmanship, and budget adherence. You will oversee Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, Interns, and trade labor in your designated area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and make decisions regarding work performance related to scheduling, logistics, quality control, and staffing levels.
  • Facilitate collaboration among assigned trades to ensure a seamless project operation, addressing local issues related to procedures, design clarifications, and scheduling.
  • Implement and manage the site safety program, ensuring compliance with Turner standards and safety regulations.
  • Supervise and mentor Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and interns, providing performance feedback as necessary.
  • Uphold strict adherence to ethics and compliance at all times.
  • Develop schedules and work sequences, implementing recovery strategies to maintain project timelines and budgets.
  • Communicate effectively with owners and architects/engineers regarding field issues, investigating and resolving concerns as they arise.
  • Manage the billing process, overseeing monthly estimates of completed work, payrolls, material invoices, and subcontractor payments.
  • Ensure all work is installed in accordance with approved contract documents.
  • Collaborate with Engineers on the coordination of mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring compliance with master coordination drawings.
  • Lead project inspections, startup, commissioning, and the handover process for all systems.
  • Coordinate and monitor subcontractor and supplier activities to ensure adherence to plans and specifications.
  • Review project changes in collaboration with the Project Engineer.
  • Maintain detailed daily records of trade contractors' work progress.
  • Participate in preconstruction efforts, including constructability and logistics assessments.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree or a minimum of six years of mechanical construction experience is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in building construction methods, scheduling, cost control procedures, and knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Systems is essential. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, are necessary. The ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, and project schedules is crucial. Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills are also required.

Physical Demands: This role requires the physical ability to navigate construction sites, including climbing stairs and ladders, and the capacity to lift and move objects up to 75 pounds.

Work Environment: The position involves working on-site at construction locations, where exposure to various environmental conditions and noise levels is common.
