About the Role

The Audit Senior plays a crucial role in providing exceptional audit preparation services to clients, participating in engagement scheduling, and identifying areas for process improvement. This position requires a strong focus on increasing technical skills and active participation in firm initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of Audit Work Papers: Prepare basic and advanced work papers, including clear and concise written documentation, and draft reports with footnotes and management and required communication letters.
  • Accounting Standards and Education: Stay current on and apply basic accounting standards and education.
  • Time Management and Deadlines: Effectively follow instruction and meet time budgets and deadlines for assigned areas, projects, and overall assignments.
  • Client Confidentiality and Risk Management: Understand and adhere to client confidentiality standards, demonstrating awareness of firm's risk management policies and procedures, by identifying and referring ethical, independence, and conflict issues to manager and/or partner.
  • Communication and Client Relations: Develop open and cordial oral and written communication with appropriate client personnel to facilitate good relations and exceptional client service, communicating with all levels within the client's organization, both orally and in writing.
  • Business Understanding and Service Suggestions: Develop a strong understanding of client's business to identify issues and provide constructive service suggestions.
  • Service Offerings and Opportunities: Develop an understanding of service offerings within, and across lines of service to identify opportunities to meet client's needs.
  • Team Support and Development: Be a resource for audit associates and interns, providing technical training and feedback on client engagements.
  • Professional Development and Growth: Support the growth and professional development of yourself and your Creative Planning teammates by participating in company-sponsored trainings, CPE courses, internal committees, and mentorship opportunities.
  • Firmwide Participation: Actively participate in firmwide A&A L10 and related committees and teams.
Qualifications
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting or related field of study.
  • Professional Certification: CPA certification in process.
  • Experience: 2+ years of professional services experience.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical and Organizational Skills: Strong analytical, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Integrity and Work Ethic: Integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.
  • Technical Skills: PC proficiency, including spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software applications.
  • Research and Analysis: Analytical skills with high detail orientation, research, and understanding of professional frameworks, standards, and guidance.
  • Technology and Tools: Technology and tools best practices, including audit software.
  • Quality Control and Risk Management: Quality control, risk assessment, analysis, and management.
  • Measurement Analysis and Interpretation: Measurement analysis and interpretation.
