Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day transportation functions at Golden State Foods. This individual will be responsible for ensuring driver performance, customer satisfaction, and meeting or exceeding department and company objectives for efficiency, reliability, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation Operations Planning: Plan, implement, and monitor day-to-day transportation operations, including analysis of on-time reports, delivery reliability, off-load rate, and manpower needs.
  • Routing and Scheduling: Review and schedule daily routing of equipment and manpower to meet customer needs in terms of contractual guidelines, special deliveries, supplemental deliveries, opening orders, etc.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Resolve equipment failures or break-downs, providing advice and assistance to drivers, as well as submitting appropriate reports to leasing/maintenance provider for service and repair.
  • Employee Supervision: Motivate employees, including performance evaluation, counseling, and problem resolution, to achieve a positive work environment.
  • Conflict Resolution: Supervise employees, conflict resolution, and disciplinary action as required.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Update routing programs (XATA, CADEC) on a daily basis, including review of drivers on-board computer reports to ensure that goals for efficiency and timeliness are met.
Leadership and Management Responsibilities

Supervise up to 50 or more employees. Oversees operations with significant impact on QCD customer relations.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education and experience equivalent to:
  • Education/Certification:
  • Preferred: Bachelors degree in management, business, or psychology from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience:
  • 3 to 6 years of work experience in transportation or food distribution, including supervisory responsibilities over drivers.
