Electromechanical Assembler

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Electromechanical Assembler to join our team at Barry-Wehmiller Group. As an Electromechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling and testing complex electromechanical equipment, ensuring high-quality products that meet our customers' needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical orders to assemble equipment.
• Use pneumatic schematics and piping diagrams to plumb machinery.
• Align, fit, and assemble component parts, using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and templates.
• Basic knowledge of electronics (AC, DC, Transistor theory) and ability to troubleshoot electronics and motion systems.
• Test performance of electromechanical assemblies, using test instruments such as electronic voltmeters, and bridges.
• Verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to drawing specifications, using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc).
• Inspect and test parts for surface defects, non-conformities, and abnormalities prior to electro-mechanical assembly.

Requirements:

• 3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ration, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands:

• Minimal time will be spent standing, talking, walking and hearing, some time will be spent sitting and lots of time will be spent using hands to finger, feel and handle.
• Lots of time will be spent lifting weight up to 10 lbs, and minimal time will be spent lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).

Work Environment:

• Minimal time will be spent working near moving mechanical parts, and with risk of electrical shock.
• The noise level is expected to be moderate, but at times can be loud due to air compressors.
