Key Responsibilities
  • Drive premium growth, retention, and profitability through effective underwriting and agency management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with agencies and underwriters to achieve business objectives
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to underwriters and other departments to ensure accurate and timely underwriting decisions
  • Oversee the development and implementation of underwriting processes and systems to support business growth and profitability
  • Collaborate with product managers, actuaries, and other stakeholders to analyze and understand book dynamics and make data-driven decisions
  • Travel to assigned states to meet with underwriters and agencies to drive production growth and build relationships
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field; CPCU or CIC designation preferred
  • At least eight years of multi-state/multi-line underwriting experience
  • At least two years of management experience
  • Strong knowledge of insurance company operations, marketing, coverage, finance, and the industry
  • Working knowledge of NCCI and independent bureau's manuals, rules, regulations, and classifications
  • Strong skills in MS Office Suite and ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and technical skills
