Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Lifeguard to join our team at the Village of Islands. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for our pool patrons.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of medical services.
  • Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility and act immediately to secure their safety in the event of an emergency.
  • Enforce rules, policies, and guidelines for the pool and aquatic facility.
  • Assist with safety orientations, administer swim tests, and fit life jackets.
  • Prepare documentation and reports related to injuries/incidents and report safety issues to supervisors.
  • Perform various maintenance duties to maintain a clean and safe facility.
Requirements
  • American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR & AED for Professional Rescuer Certificates.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License or government-issued identification.
  • Considerable knowledge of life-saving and first aid methods and techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of swimming pool equipment and its uses.
Working Conditions

The Lifeguard will work in an outdoor facility and be exposed to sun, wet, and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The position requires the performance of multiple complex tasks simultaneously and requires long-range planning with consideration to all influencing factors.
