We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Nurse to join our team at Trinity Health. As a CVOR Nurse, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-Operative Preparation: Meticulously prepare the operating room, ensuring that all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are sterile and readily accessible.
- Assisting the Surgeon: Actively assist the cardiac surgeon during procedures, handling instruments, passing sutures, and managing surgical equipment while anticipating the surgeon's needs and maintaining a sterile field.
- Post-Operative Education: Educate patients and their families about post-operative care, medications, and potential complications.
- Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
- Registration: Must hold a valid and current Connecticut registered nurse licensure.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in CVOR nursing is required, with preference given to candidates with experience in Cardiac Perioperative and Surgical Service lines or General/Main Operating Room settings.
- Certifications: Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS or CPR certification.
- Professional Standards: Proficiency in practicing according to the recommended standards and guidelines of the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN).
- Full-Time Position: 40 hours/week, Day Shift, with rotating weekends and holidays, and on-call rotation required for all shifts.
- Specialty Pay: Experience Nurses with one (1) or more years of expertise receive additional hourly specialty pay, enhancing base pay compensation.
