Key Responsibilities
  • Lead large and complex CAD design initiatives with minimal oversight or direction.
  • Communicate effectively within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes, and approaches.
  • Provide technical oversight to more junior CAD designers and mentor them in drafting best practices, tolerancing, and standards.
  • Support the design process from concept to delivery, ensuring that all designs meet the required standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs are aligned with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in CAD design tools and technologies.
Requirements
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Associate Degree and minimum 8 years prior related experience, or Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years prior related experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience with 3D CAD tools, specifically PTC Creo Parametric.
Preferred Skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and general understanding of manufacturing and assembly techniques.
  • Previous experience in supporting the design of ground structures, mechanisms, electronics packaging, and/or composite structures.
  • Knowledge of applicable government and industry standards.
  • Strong understanding of the ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ASME Y Engineering Drawing Practices), and its application techniques.
