Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled mechanical engineer to design, develop, and qualify complex mechanical hardware, including precision mechanisms and electro-mechanical hardware. The ideal candidate will have experience in 3D modeling, critical hardware design, and development, as well as the ability to work independently and within a multi-disciplined team environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for owning larger aspects of the system, being flexible with tasking as the program evolves, and providing technical leadership over requirements definition, concept generation, material selection, trade studies, design sensitivity/optimization studies, preliminary and final design, design documentation, and assembly/integration and testing.

Essential Functions:
Design and develop complex mechanical hardware, including precision mechanisms and electro-mechanical hardware

Generate Technical Data Package components (Part and Assembly drawings, etc.)

Prototype, Integrate, and Test component parts and assemblies

Develop test plans and procedures for mechanical subsystems

Perform test and evaluation of component parts and systems

Participate in peer reviews, PDRs, CDRs, and other required design reviews

Participate in product change review meetings and discussions and implement changes

Participate in interdisciplinary design teams and reviews

Adhere to company processes for product development, configuration management, purchasing, etc.

Direct Designers/ Technicians as part of a design team

Support field testing/demonstration efforts as an ME field representative

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Active Top Secret or Top Secret with the ability to obtain SCI clearance

4+ years experience developing complex mechanical hardware including precision mechanisms and electro-mechanical hardware

Understanding and utilization of ASME Y14.5 standards

Preferred Additional Skills:
Active TS/SCI clearance highly preferred

Favorable polygraph

Experience in design or development of precision mechanisms and mechatronic systems.

Proficiency in CAD tools such as Creo

Experience in additive manufacturing, part optimization, and design for manufacture and assembly a plus.

Experience with any of the following: actuators, custom gear trains, electro-optical systems, materials testing, and manufacturing processes
