Compassionate Home Care Specialist

The Field Specialist is a vital member of our home care team, working under the supervision of the Director of Nursing to deliver exceptional personal care services to clients. This role is managed by the Customer Care Manager and involves providing direct care for short-notice assignments.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide client care as directed by the Customer Care Manager, ensuring a high level of service quality and satisfaction.
- Offer personal care services, including but not limited to:
- Bathing, grooming, and oral care assistance, as well as helping with dressing and undressing, and toileting activities.
- Assisting with feeding, if necessary, including caring for clients who are unable to feed themselves.
- Taking and recording vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure) and measuring and recording height and weight, if required.
- Supporting good skin care practices to prevent skin breakdown, including turning and repositioning clients, actively encouraging movement, and assisting with active and passive range-of-motion exercises as defined by the plan of care.
- Observing clients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions, documenting any changes, and reporting them to the Director of Nursing or Customer Care Manager. Measuring and documenting intake and output, if necessary.
- Assisting clients in self-administering medication, including serving as a reminder.
- Performing light housekeeping tasks, meal preparation, clean-up, changing bed linens, making up clients' beds, and maintaining an orderly client environment.
- Creating and promoting a safe environment for quality client care by adhering to established policies, procedures, and standards.
- Accept a weekly schedule based on 5 days per week/8-hour shifts.
- Respond promptly to office calls to accept new assignments.
- Provide care for new clients as they begin services.
- Fulfill call-ins and planned vacations for other caregivers.
- Be available and willing to work with various client populations, including children, adults, and seniors, in a variety of health conditions and diagnoses.
- Able to adapt to different home environments that may include pets or smoking.
- Will assist in the office or with administrative duties, such as introductions, answering phones, organizing, and cleaning, when no client shifts are available.
- Perform on-the-job training for newly hired caregivers.
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
You should also have:
- Certified CPR and current physical or TB/PPD test, where applicable.
- Reliable transportation insured according to our organization's requirements.
- Willingness to travel within our service area.
- Ability to adhere to HIPAA and maintain client confidentiality.
- Effective communication skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Travel may be required to cover our entire service area for client care services, staff needs, and business requirements, including attending job-required training and conferences.
- You will interact with clients in various situations, including their living environments and institutions like hospitals or long-term care facilities.
- Emergency situations may require your prompt response.
- This role involves tasks with potential exposure to blood and other infectious materials, such as body fluids and tissues.
- Personal Protective Equipment, like gloves, mask, eye/face protection, and disposable outer covering or lab coat, may be necessary.
As a Field Specialist, you must be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull. Your ability to lift up to 50 pounds and possess visual and hearing acuity are essential.
