POSITION OVERVIEW

The Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of construction projects executed by both Company and contractor teams. This role ensures that all projects are executed in alignment with Company standards, specifications, and timelines, while maximizing Return on Investment (ROI). The supervisor will manage construction permitting processes and collaborate with both Company and contractor personnel to optimize resource allocation. Additionally, this position will work closely with construction planning teams to prioritize and schedule projects effectively. A commitment to continuous improvement (CI) is essential for this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that contractors adhere to Company standards and maintain the necessary qualifications for crew operators.
  • Oversee project timelines and coordinate construction activities with relevant departments.
  • Maintain up-to-date construction action plans and communicate workload priorities across the organization.
  • Address escalated project issues and collaborate with stakeholders to identify solutions.
  • Review as-built drawings prior to contractor payment approval.
  • Collaborate with the construction planning team on technical designs and cost-effective solutions.
  • Utilize and implement new construction materials and technologies as appropriate for specific projects.
  • Identify and execute process improvements that enhance efficiency for both customer and Company processes.
  • Monitor staff workload to ensure alignment with project priorities and adjust as necessary.
  • Balance resources and workloads to ensure effective project planning and execution.
  • Act as a liaison between union representatives and management, ensuring adherence to the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives by designing processes, establishing quality standards, and sharing best practices.
  • May take on responsibilities as a key tag protection leader or job leader in accordance with corporate policies.
  • Perform essential supervisory functions, including planning, organizing, directing activities, staffing, and budgeting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • MINIMUM: High school diploma or GED, with at least 3 years of relevant experience in the field.
  • PREFERRED: Associate's degree or certification in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline; proficiency in relevant software applications.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify key issues and recommend solutions.
  • Thorough understanding of project management principles and processes.
  • Ability to apply project planning and continuous improvement principles to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Proficient in managing resistance and implementing constructive feedback to prevent future errors.
