Fuel Center Cashier Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Fuel Center Cashier to join our team at Brookshire Grocery Company. As a Fuel Center Cashier, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment, ensuring accurate customer transactions, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain fuel center and kiosk cleanliness, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for customers.
  • Accurately complete customer transactions, including keying and scanning items, and maintaining accurate money counts in the register.
  • Monitor and report suspicious activities, emergencies, fires, and fuel spills, ensuring customer and employee safety.
  • Answer telephone calls and transfer them to appropriate store personnel.
  • Remain current on tender policies and procedures related to checks, credit, debit, coupons, EBT, AML, lottery, and other payment methods.
  • Identify and communicate parking lot maintenance needs to management.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels by generating end-of-shift or day reports, monitoring product levels, and restocking or informing store management of necessary reordering.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, greeting customers, answering questions, and responding to complaints.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary working environment by adhering to Company safety procedures, cleaning around gas pumps, and spot cleaning spills and breakages.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 16 years of age required.
  • TABC/LACT certification required where applicable.
  • Fuel Operator C training required.

Work Environment:

This role is generally performed in a fuel center, with frequent exposure to outside temperatures and weather. Occasional exposure to wet, slippery, or damp conditions, cleaning agents, industrial odors, fumes, and dust may be present. A quiet to moderate noise level is typical of this work environment.
