Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Inova Health System. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide compassionate and individualized care to patients and their families, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships to inform individualized plans of care.
- Formulate and implement evidence-based plans of care, incorporating best practices and patient preferences to achieve desired outcomes.
- Provide patient and family-centered care, promoting health education and empowerment through effective communication and collaboration.
- Advocate for patients' rights and needs, serving as a resource and counselor to resolve issues and promote patient satisfaction.
- Coordinate care transitions, accessing resources from all disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes and ensuring seamless handovers.
- Document patient care activities, adhering to documentation standards and assisting healthcare team members with documentation.
- Evaluate care processes, anticipating patient variances and making revisions to plans of care to optimize outcomes.
- Makes clinical decisions based on experience, patient population data, and intuition, promoting the development of clinical decision-making skills among team members.
- Communicate effectively, work cooperatively with others, and demonstrate respect for and understanding of other clinical disciplines.
- Assist staff in assessing patients' learning needs and outcomes measurement of patient education.
- Provide direction and guidance to others regarding practice, serving as a clinical resource, preceptor, and mentor, and delegate patient care activities and coordinate unit activities as needed.
- Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery, ensuring that the process for delivery of care is synthesized from direct patient/family communication, technology, and other healthcare team member collaboration.
- Demonstrate evidence of self-development by obtaining a minimum of six formal contact hours and maintaining own Team Member Continuing Education Record.
- Evaluate clinical and quality outcomes, contributing to performance improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor of Science Degree (BSN) or Associate Degree with BSN within five years of hire.
- One year of Registered Nurse (RN) experience required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required upon start.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse (RN) upon start.
