About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at Saba Health Care. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional resident care and supporting our nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist nurses in providing resident care, focusing on daily living routines
  • Support the facility's philosophy of care and strive to achieve its goals and objectives
  • Be sensitive to residents' families and respond in an appropriate professional manner
  • Carry out assignments for resident care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and restorative nursing procedures
  • Keep residents' living areas clean and tidy, and answer call lights promptly
  • Report any changes in resident condition to the charge nurse
  • Turn bedridden residents every two hours, and wash, clean, and dry incontinent residents
  • Assist the treatment nurse as assigned, and complete assignment reports to the charge nurse
  • Be responsible for the well-being and nursing care of all residents assigned to your unit
  • Take vital signs and monthly weights, and record results in the EMR
  • Document vital signs, weight, meal monitoring, bowel and bladder records, and restorative records in the EMR
  • Detect and report situations that have a high probability of causing accidents or injuries to residents and/or staff
  • Assure that work/assignment areas are clean and free of hazardous conditions, and that equipment is properly stored
  • Follow established infection control and universal precaution practices
  • Attend nursing department, Care Plan, and other meetings as directed by the DON or ADON
  • Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs
Requirements
  • Must hold a current Certified Nurse's Assistant certificate in the State of Illinois
  • A high school diploma is preferred
  • Must have the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English in an understandable manner
