Position Overview:

Acadia Healthcare is committed to supporting individuals facing dual diagnosis challenges, offering a solid foundation for sustained recovery. Our organization is a premier provider of treatment services for adults impacted by addiction and mental health disorders.

We are excited to announce the launch of a new dual diagnosis initiative and are seeking a Full-Time Physician Assistant. The work schedule is adaptable within a five-day workweek.

Role Summary:

The Physician Assistant will deliver essential medical services to our patients. This role involves executing specific medical care tasks as permitted by state licensing regulations. Key responsibilities include overseeing the medical management of patients across various levels of care provided by our facility. The Physician Assistant will offer healthcare services typically performed by a physician under their supervision, conduct thorough physical examinations, and provide necessary education, referrals, and follow-up care to patients. In certain situations, the Physician Assistant may prescribe medications in accordance with state laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive physical assessments of patients based on training and qualifications;
  • Perform physical examinations for patients receiving medication maintenance;
  • Ensure adherence to physician medication orders and consult with the supervising physician as needed;
  • Evaluate patient care and modify care plans based on outcomes, diagnostic results, and patient feedback;
  • Provide education to patients and staff regarding medication maintenance;
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, CARF Standards, and clinic policies;
  • Maintain and enhance knowledge base in line with the requirements for professional certification as a Physician Assistant;
  • Execute additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program;
  • Preferred experience in a substance abuse treatment environment;
  • No history of substance misuse for at least three years prior to employment.

Licenses/Certifications Required:

  • Board certification as a Physician Assistant;
  • State licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant;
  • DEA registration.
