Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and utilize tools for rapid definition, analysis, and evaluation of architectural and system concepts, including trade studies and technical roadmaps.
- Create operational concepts, requirements, and functional architecture definitions.
- Establish configuration and sizing for a variety of system applications, including block diagrams and interface documents.
- Guide ideas through the development pipeline, supporting assessments and execution of studies.
- Mentor and train team members to cultivate a robust pool of technical talent and encourage career advancement.
- Lead technical initiatives with a high standard of excellence.
- Promote and exemplify the leadership principles of Blue Origin.
- Identify and address gaps in current processes and tools, continuously improving solutions.
- Utilize collaboration platforms such as JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint effectively.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Over 8 years of relevant experience in Systems Engineering.
- Extensive knowledge in one or more traditional aerospace subsystems.
- Experience in conducting trade studies that balance performance, resource use, risk, cost, and schedule.
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary development projects, including requirements, priorities, scope, schedule, and budget.
- Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-disciplinary teams on rapid development initiatives.
- Flexibility and readiness to transition between projects swiftly.
- Demonstrated sound judgment and comfort in making timely, high-quality decisions.
- Ability to build trust and maintain professional relationships, contributing to an inclusive culture.
- Highly organized team player with exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or legally admitted refugee/asylee.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's or PhD in Aerospace Engineering or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in a dynamic concept development environment.
- Experience in the full life-cycle development of spacecraft or space-flight systems.
- Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Confluence and JIRA.
