Job Overview:

The Vistas at Bettendorf is actively seeking a dedicated Full-Time MDS Coordinator, specifically a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational, leadership, assessment, and documentation capabilities. A background in MDS within a long-term care environment is essential, along with a valid nursing license in Iowa.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the precise and prompt completion of Minimum Data Set (MDS) evaluations and care plans for residents.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' medical, functional, and psychosocial requirements.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to collect necessary medical documentation.
  • Implement clinical documentation improvement techniques to ensure accurate coding and billing.
  • Work alongside the interdisciplinary team to create tailored care plans.
  • Maintain and update patient records in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Provide training and education to staff regarding MDS completion and documentation best practices.
  • Prior experience with HEDIS reporting and medical documentation is preferred.
  • Familiarity with hospice care, case management, and utilization management practices is beneficial.
  • Understanding of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG) and reimbursement methodologies is required.
Qualifications:
  • Must hold a current, unencumbered nursing license as an RN or LPN.
  • A minimum of one year of MDS experience is required.
  • Experience in Skilled Nursing or Rehabilitation facilities is preferred.
  • The candidate should be qualified, compassionate, and committed to excellence in their work.
  • Education:Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
