Position Summary
The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for the accurate dispensing of medications prescribed by healthcare providers and offers comprehensive guidance to patients regarding their pharmaceutical treatments. This role includes advising healthcare professionals on medication selection, appropriate dosages, potential interactions, and side effects.

The Clinical Pharmacist will:
- Examine prescriptions for correctness, ensuring the necessary components are available and assessing their appropriateness. Provide insights on drug interactions, adverse effects, dosage recommendations, and proper storage methods.
- Evaluate the identity, strength, and purity of medications. Prepare and dispense medications as per physician orders, utilizing precise calculations and measurements, or supervising these processes.
- Maintain comprehensive records including pharmacy files, patient profiles, inventory control, and documentation for controlled substances.
- Develop and uphold protocols for the preparation, packaging, and labeling of pharmaceuticals in compliance with policy and legal standards to guarantee quality and security.
- Offer specialized services to assist patients in managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, asthma, and hypertension. Conduct health promotion activities, including training patients on the use of monitoring devices.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to plan, assess, and enhance the quality and effectiveness of medication therapies, providing expert advice on drug applications and characteristics. Monitor prescribing patterns to ensure patient adherence and prevent adverse interactions.
- Manage the procurement of pharmaceutical and medical supplies, ensuring proper storage and handling.
- Exceptional patient service abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of pharmacology and drug interactions.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology.
- Meticulous attention to detail with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
- Oversee pharmacy operations, including staff management, administrative tasks, and inventory control.
- Provide mentorship to pharmacy interns preparing for licensure.
- Ability to perform various physical tasks such as standing or sitting for extended periods, lifting (up to 15 pounds), climbing stairs, and maintaining coordination.
- Occasional travel may be necessary within the surrounding areas.
- Must possess a degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
- Must hold a valid state license as a Registered Pharmacist.
- Experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
