Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical substation work, including installation, maintenance, and repair of high voltage equipment. They will be responsible for:

  • Observing and practicing all corporate safety policies and procedures.
  • Recognizing and controlling hazards involved in working in a substation.
  • Interpreting electrical construction blueprints and elementary drawings.
  • Installing electrical below and above grade raceways and wiring.
  • Installing equipment related to metering, communication systems, and relaying systems.
  • Performing all phases of installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical motors, complex electronic devices, control panels, relays, conduit, and switches.
  • Using meter and motor testing equipment.
  • Ability to understand control schematics.
  • Ability to read and understand installation instructions and wiring diagrams for basic equipment.
  • Ability to check phasing through a system.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical substation work.
  • Completed an electrical apprenticeship program.
  • Preferred OSHA certification.
  • Knowledge of technical practices in order to plan, layout, and complete maintenance or repair needed for high voltage equipment.
  • Skilled in using and maintaining electrical tools and test equipment.
  • Knowledge of substation grounding and skilled in installing protection grounds.
  • Related experience in a high voltage environment.
