Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Software, software engineering teams, and product management.
  • Oversee the firmware development lifecycle, ensuring effective design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Firmware Engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
  • Manage project timelines and ensure the delivery of firmware projects with a focus on quality and performance.
  • Facilitate communication between the firmware engineering team and other departments, translating complex firmware concepts into actionable strategies.
  • Implement comprehensive testing protocols to guarantee firmware reliability and performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in firmware design and development for embedded systems or in a similar capacity.
  • Proven experience in leading firmware projects with a strong track record.
  • In-depth knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and hardware interfaces.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and assembly.
  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and hardware debugging tools.
  • Willingness to work outside of standard hours to collaborate with teams across different time zones.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for business purposes.

Preferred Skills

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Expertise in the firmware development lifecycle, including best practices for design, testing, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with various communication protocols (e.g., MIPI, SPI, I2C, UART).
  • Knowledge of power management techniques and optimization for embedded systems.
  • Strong capability to convey complex technical and management information clearly and concisely.

Compensation and Benefits

The approved base salary range for this position is competitive and may vary based on experience, education, and location. This position is also eligible for performance bonuses and special project incentives. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401k.
