Position Overview: The On-Site Construction Project Manager will oversee and execute daily operations related to the physical construction of new and renovation projects, with budgets ranging from $100,000 to $50,000,000. The role requires ensuring compliance with the project's Quality Control Plan and Safety Plan. Responsibilities also include project planning, scheduling, and cost management while providing technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate all necessary project site deliverables, including site planning, logistics, contract administration, cost and time management, as well as quality and safety oversight.
  • Facilitate coordination among contractors, subcontractors, design consultants, and staff to ensure timely and budget-friendly project completion, maintaining full authority over all onsite construction activities.

Detailed Duties:

  • Document and oversee all project site operations to ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Participate in design kickoff and review meetings.
  • Support the corporate office in developing project staff.
  • Coordinate onsite activities with corporate office functions.
  • Manage jobsite administration and field supervision.
  • Assist in procuring subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Develop, monitor, and communicate the project schedule and its updates.
  • Oversee direct labor force and maintain labor relations.
  • Manage subcontractor schedules, quality of work, and payment processes.
  • Coordinate cost-progress targets and production metrics.
  • Identify and resolve project changes.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with owners, design professionals, building officials, and local businesses.
  • Conduct onsite project reviews and preparatory meetings with stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with the project site Safety and Health Plan and Quality Control Plan.
  • Interpret architectural and engineering plans and specifications.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Engage with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to address work procedures and construction challenges.
  • Assess labor requirements and prepare budget estimates along with progress and cost tracking reports.
  • Inspect projects to ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions with architects, consultants, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Obtain necessary permits and licenses.
  • Implement measures to mitigate delays and emergencies at the project site.
  • Schedule the project logically and allocate time to meet deadlines.
  • Clarify plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients.
  • Investigate incidents at construction sites and ensure proper procedures are followed.
  • Document onsite activities for project close-out and as-built drawings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in Construction Project Management, specifically for medical facilities, is required.
  • Possession of an American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) Healthcare Construction Certificate (HCC) is preferred. The American Hospital Association's (AHA) Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) certification may be accepted in lieu of the HCC.

Education:

  • Candidates should possess relevant work experience.
  • A BS or MS in Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.
