Position Summary

The Community & Volunteer Engagement Manager collaborates with the Director of Community Services to enhance community involvement and volunteer initiatives across all agency programs. This role requires adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and produce promotional materials such as brochures, flyers, and posters for community outreach.
  • Engage with community members to promote events and outreach initiatives.
  • Develop and execute volunteer recruitment strategies, including creating informative materials about the volunteer program.
  • Organize and manage volunteer onboarding and orientation processes.
  • Coordinate and oversee volunteer projects involving diverse groups, including families, teens, and corporate teams.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on volunteer hours, outreach events, and other necessary documentation.
  • Plan and implement activities aimed at supporting vulnerable and underserved populations.
  • Foster relationships between programs and administration to enhance community engagement opportunities.
  • Ensure effective communication regarding volunteer and outreach matters.
  • Establish a system for tracking and following up on program-related inquiries.
  • Collaborate with program leaders to identify resource needs for client services.
  • Collect and draft narratives highlighting the experiences of clients and volunteers.
  • Explore innovative volunteer engagement strategies to further the agency's mission.
  • Oversee collaboration with diocesan offices and parishes to promote social justice initiatives.
  • Manage the volunteer recruitment, screening, and placement processes.
  • Administer the volunteer database, ensuring its capacity to handle a large volunteer base.
  • Monitor community engagement and volunteer program outcomes, providing relevant statistical reports.
  • Develop training modules for volunteers and staff regarding volunteer management.
  • Implement volunteer retention and appreciation initiatives.
  • Address volunteer-related issues, including mediation and replacement when necessary.
  • Prepare and manage the budget for community engagement and volunteer programs.
  • Exhibit leadership in finance, budgeting, and grievance resolution.
  • Supervise assigned staff in accordance with agency policies.
  • Demonstrate expertise in volunteer management and staff development.
  • Ensure high-quality service delivery to clients and staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive volunteer tracking system.
  • Develop a strategic community engagement plan that aligns with agency goals.
  • Review and select culturally relevant educational materials.
  • Prepare documents and reports for the Director of Community Services.
  • Manage the budget for Community Engagement and Volunteer Services.
  • Ensure prudent use of agency resources.
  • Represent the agency positively in various community settings.
  • Collaborate with staff and stakeholders to support agency branding and messaging.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining agency policies and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Adhere to all agency policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree and/or a minimum of 3 years of experience in volunteer management.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
