The Operations Leader - Merchandise is responsible for driving operational excellence within the Pet Care Center, aligning with Petco's vision of 'Healthier Pets. Happier People. Better World.'
Key Responsibilities- Utilize business acumen to analyze and diagnose business trends, informing strategic decisions.
- Support the implementation and execution of Inventory Management, providing training and coaching to partners.
- Implement and execute Merchandising Management, ensuring Brand Standards, Pricing, and Planogram Accuracy.
- Process register transactions to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Develop and maintain proficiency in our selling model, supporting guest interactions as needed.
- Ensure the health, proper handling, and welfare of all animals, adhering to policies and procedures.
- Adhere to and promote established safety procedures for partners, guests, and pets.
- Train and develop partners on receiving, processing, and stocking procedures.
- Ensure store opening and closing procedures are executed in accordance with established policies.
- Accountable as Leader on Duty for supporting the guest experience and Pet Care Center execution.
- Promote a positive leadership culture of teamwork, inclusion, and collaboration.
- A high school diploma or equivalent required; some college-level business/management courses preferred.
- 1 or more years of management experience or equivalent required, with 2 or more years preferred.
- Licensed to operate a motor vehicle.
- Proficiency in communication, organizational, and computer skills.
Directly supervises Operations Specialists & Operations Generalists, ensuring high merchandising standards are maintained throughout the Pet Care Center.
Work EnvironmentThis role is expected to provide support during key operational hours, with weekend availability. Most job duties are conducted indoors, although some tasks may require brief departures from the Pet Care Center.
