Exciting Opportunities in Molecular Microbiology

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Technologist Trainee in our Molecular Microbiology lab. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing testing on biological samples, quality control samples, and proficiency samples, making measurements and calculations, and maintaining and cleaning instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate specimens and test orders, determining priority of work and batches to maintain acceptable turn-around-time
  • Perform testing on biological samples, quality control samples, and proficiency samples, making measurements and calculations
  • Maintain and clean instrumentation, performing scheduled and as-needed maintenance and critical function, and troubleshooting as indicated
  • Evaluate raw and final data for accuracy, recognizing and correcting errors and unusual results, and interpreting results to produce a final report
  • Make controls, such as internal, positive, or negative controls, and manage the movement of materials/samples being processed
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, medical technology, or a related science required
  • Previous experience is not required at the Technologist Trainee level
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Proficient with computers, familiarity with laboratory information systems a plus
  • High level of attention to detail, along with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
