Job Summary

The Night Porter/Custodian I will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe facility and grounds at all times. This task-driven position involves closing duties, moderate customer interaction, and providing services to ensure the functionality of the facility.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of all private and public areas to ensure a safe and effective service for users.
  • Supervise, monitor, and clean the Locker Rooms and Cabanas.
  • Perform tear down and clean up duties after each day's events.
  • Responsible for closing duties and ensuring the building is clean and presentable for opening the following day.
  • Complete set-ups or preparations of areas for the following day's events.
  • Maintain the appearance of the facilities by adhering to assigned duties to ensure an attractive, safe, and functional facility is presented to members, guests, and employees.
  • Adhere to the daily custodial schedule of the building internally and externally to accomplish all tasks, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, waxing floors, cleaning windows, vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, and fitness equipment.
  • Keep all custodial work areas and closets neat and clean.
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment and notify the supervisor when purchases are needed.
  • Develop skills, attend continuing education sessions, and attain personal qualifications standards to ensure technical competency and teamwork required to provide quality service.
  • Ensure the security of the facility by checking and securing all entry points as appropriate and reporting inappropriate or suspicious persons or activities to the immediate supervisor.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Ability to work late night shifts.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain adequate inventory levels.
  • Ability to reason and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks at once.
  • Able to work with all ethnic and socio-economic populations.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to kneel, squat, bend, lift, climb, and stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects and reach overhead.
  • Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs.
