Key Responsibilities

Position Summary:

As a Field Service Technician I, you will play a crucial role in the medical field by maintaining, refurbishing, and repairing surgical instruments. You will collaborate with more experienced technicians while working under moderate supervision.

Essential Duties:

  • Assist in the repair of surgical instruments under the guidance of senior technicians;
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients;
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by managing expectations effectively;
  • Collaborate with sales teams to enhance business opportunities in your designated area;
  • Perform accurate and timely repairs on precision surgical instruments;
  • Oversee all on-site repairs, maintenance, and testing of assigned instruments;
  • Diagnose technical issues and implement effective solutions, requiring strong problem-solving skills;
  • Complete daily work orders promptly;
  • Update customer reports as necessary;
  • Work in conjunction with sales and technical teams to facilitate information sharing;
  • Understand customer needs and provide suitable recommendations;
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and equipment;
  • Adhere to ISO and FDA regulations as outlined in the Quality Manual;
  • Embody the company's Vision, Mission, and Values;
  • Other related duties may be assigned.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines, operational instructions, and procedure manuals;
  • Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence;
  • Effective communication skills for interactions with customers and colleagues;
  • Mathematical proficiency for calculations involving various units of measure;
  • Ability to apply common sense in following instructions and solving problems.

This position requires physical presence at client sites, which may include clinical environments such as hospitals and clinics. Compliance with vaccination requirements may be necessary to access these facilities.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma is required;
  • Experience with delicate metal instruments is preferred;
  • Clear communication skills are essential;
  • A technical degree is advantageous;
  • Flexibility for occasional overtime and shift changes is required;
  • Basic computer skills are necessary.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
