About the Job

The Arc of Prince George's County is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in a community living residential home setting. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing person-centered supports and services to individuals with disabilities, promoting their independence, and enhancing their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Leadership: Provide medical leadership and guidance to staff during shifts, ensuring the medical well-being of individuals in the home.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications and document on the Medication Administration Record, ensuring accurate and timely medication management.
  • Personal Care and Support: Implement nursing plans of care, provide training and support to individuals, and assist with daily living activities, such as toileting, oral hygiene, and bathing.
  • Community Participation: Encourage individuals to participate in community activities, promote socialization, and support their inclusion in community events.
  • Communication and Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records, document progress, and communicate effectively with individuals, families, and staff.
Requirements
  • A valid LPN license for the state of Maryland.
  • At least 1 year of related experience working with individuals in a care-giving setting.
  • A good driving record, reliable vehicle, and current Maryland Driver's license.
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated care-giving skills, such as personal care provision and repositioning skills.
  • Ability to lift a person with assistance (two-person lift).
