Position Overview:

The Direct Care Worker (DCW) delivers various personal care and homemaker/companion services to clients, following an established care plan to ensure they can remain comfortably in their homes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Personal Care: Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, nail and skin care, back care, foot care, oral hygiene, mobility support, transfers, range of motion exercises, and safe use of assistive devices.
  • Companionship and Household Management: Provide companionship and respite services for families, perform homemaking tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, laundry, and cleaning.
  • Medication Assistance: Support with medication management under RN supervision and delegation.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Completion of a state-approved Direct Care Worker or Home Health Aide course.
  • Good standing on the Pennsylvania Aide Registry.
  • A minimum score of 80% on the competency exam (Home Health Aide Test).
  • Passing criteria on the DEARS Ethics test.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as required for the role.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to insured transportation.
