Polysomnography Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Polysomnography Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Polysomnography Technologist, you will play a critical role in performing outpatient sleep disorder studies, preparing and testing patients, and implementing interventions to ensure patient safety and therapeutic outcomes.

• Prepare and calibrate equipment for sleep studies, ensuring proper functioning and signals.
• Select and apply monitoring electrodes, bands, thermistors, and other probes to patients' bodies.
• Prepare positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fittings and follow sleep procedures to establish and document baseline values.
• Assist with scoring sleep/wake stages and generating accurate reports by tabulating sleep/wake and clinical event data.
• Implement interventions, including continuous and bi-level positive airway pressure, oxygen administration, and other therapeutic interventions.
• Perform polysomnographic data acquisition, monitoring study-tracing quality, and eliminating artifacts.
• Follow wake procedures to verify data integrity and complete the data collection process.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days.
• Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) registration or equivalent certification within 2 years.
• Advanced training beyond high school, including completion of an accredited or approved program.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills.
