Job Summary

SSM Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical-Surgical team. As a Medical-Surgical Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, assessing and evaluating patients' physical and emotional needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, working with patients, families, and healthcare teams to achieve optimal health outcomes.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, lab results, and other data to identify potential complications and take prompt action to address them.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, including referrals to specialists and other services as needed.
  • Document patient information, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices, new technologies, and emerging trends in medical-surgical nursing.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
