Position Description

The School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of California, Irvine is actively seeking exceptional candidates for a Clinical X Professor series position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels within the Department of Clinical Pharmacy Practice. Established in 1965, UCI is recognized as a leading hospital and ranks among the top-10 public universities according to U.S. News & World Report. It is home to several NIH-funded centers, including the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center (CFCCC) and the Institute for Clinical and Translational Sciences (ICTS). The UCI School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences collaborates with the Samueli Institute for Integrative Health, Schools of Nursing, Medicine, and Population & Public Health, forming the UCI College of Health Sciences. This College is integrated within the UC Irvine Health system, which encompasses UCI's clinics and the only academic medical center in Orange County.

This opportunity is open to all clinical specialties. Candidates at the assistant, associate, or full professor rank will be considered.

The successful candidate will be expected to instruct both student pharmacists and pharmacy residents at both didactic and experiential levels while engaging in scholarly activities. Candidates should lead or significantly contribute to a research program and/or participate in other creative endeavors. Additionally, candidates may provide clinical services and develop educational programs at the UC Irvine Medical Center or an affiliate site. This position will report to the Chair of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy Practice.

Basic Qualifications (required at time of application)

Applicants must possess a pharmacy degree and have completed post-graduate training such as residency, fellowship, or another post-graduate program (e.g., Masters, PhD). Competitive candidates will demonstrate relevant scholarship experience, teaching capabilities, a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, potential for academic advancement within the UC system, and eligibility for California pharmacy licensure as applicable. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team, are essential.
