Salary Range:
The budget for this role is between $125,000 and $175,000 annually, with compensation adjusted based on the duration of the appointment. The established UC salary scales determine the minimum pay based on rank and/or step at the time of appointment.

Position Description

The University of California Irvine School of Law is seeking applications for the position of Visiting Clinical Faculty Member for upcoming semesters.

We are looking for a Visiting Clinical Faculty Member to co-instruct in our Community and Economic Development (CED) Clinic. This clinic addresses community and economic development challenges faced by low- and moderate-income populations, focusing on non-adversarial, transactional advocacy approaches. Students primarily represent organizational clients, including community organizations and small businesses.

For subsequent semesters, we are also interested in candidates who can co-teach in our Domestic Violence Clinic (DVC), which provides comprehensive, client-centered services to survivors of abuse, including assistance with restraining orders and family law trials. Students engage in community education and advocacy efforts aimed at creating systemic change regarding domestic violence.

Alternatively, candidates may have the opportunity to teach in one of UCI Law's other core clinics.

Successful applicants will be appointed as a Visiting Clinical Faculty Member, depending on their experience. Compensation will be aligned with qualifications and experience. Candidates should possess a minimum of 5-7 years of legal practice and/or teaching experience in relevant areas. A J.D. degree or equivalent from an accredited institution and membership in a state bar are required. Demonstrated potential for excellence in clinical teaching is essential.
