We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team as a Shelter Medicine Specialist. As a key member of our medical team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to shelter animals, including spay/neuter surgeries, medical exams, and treatment of injured or sick animals.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform spay/neuter surgeries and other medical procedures as needed
- Conduct medical exams and diagnose illnesses in shelter animals
- Develop and implement medical treatment plans for shelter animals
- Train and supervise veterinary technicians and other medical staff
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including OSHA and DEA requirements
- DVM or VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited school
- Valid license to practice veterinary medicine in Texas
- USDA accreditation and DEA registration
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
