About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Tech to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a Surgical Tech, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, providing exceptional patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working condition and easily accessible.
  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during procedures, providing support and maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
  • Monitor and maintain patient safety, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines to prevent complications.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and efficient workflow.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in surgical technology or a related field preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required; certification in surgical technology preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in a similar medical setting preferred.
