Program Staff Member

Chapel Haven Schleifer Center Inc is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Program Staff to join our team. As a Program Staff, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities in their daily lives.
Job Summary:The Program Staff will provide assistance with daily living skills, social relationships, and community awareness/access. This includes teaching and modeling skills such as meal planning, grocery shopping, and meal preparation, as well as personal hygiene and grooming, laundry skills, and social relationships.
Responsibilities:- Teach and model daily living skills, including meal planning, grocery shopping, and meal preparation.
- Provide assistance with personal hygiene and grooming, including showering, shaving, and teeth brushing.
- Teach and model laundry skills, including laundry preparation, detergent use, and washer/dryer operation.
- Support individuals with social relationships, including problem solving, peer counseling, and appropriate social skills.
- Complete daily progress notes for individuals based on their individual goals and objectives.
- Provide medication oversight and assist individuals with medication administration as outlined.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field or 4 more years' experience.
- Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities or developmental disabilities and some knowledge working with DDS and/or CARF.
- Computer literacy (i.e., word, excel, outlook).
- Able to obtain State of Connecticut Medication Administration Certification (as required).
- Hold a Valid CT driver's license.
- Able to obtain and maintain Public Service License.
