We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at Johns Hopkins Health System. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Assistance: Function as a technical assistant and practice partner with the registered nurse, performing delegated nursing functions and carrying out plans formulated by licensed or certified professional staff.
- Patient Care Duties: Perform routine unit assignments and paraprofessional patient care duties, including taking vital signs, performing electrocardiograms, observing monitors, and identifying deviation from normal conditions.
- Communication: Exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, greet visitors, explain medical center policies, and relay messages to appropriate personnel, demonstrating courtesy and tact when interacting with patients, visitors, and medical center employees.
- Experience: Six months of previous experience as a Patient Care Technician, Patient Aide, or Geriatric Nursing Assistant, or currently enrolled in a nursing program and has completed basic technician training in nursing.
- Certification: Certification by the Maryland Board of Nursing as a Certified Nursing Assistant or higher recognized nursing license, and annual certification in CPR.
- Skills: Analytical skills to gather and interpret data in situations where information or problems are relatively routine.
