Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Perdue Foods. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality care and support to our patients under the direction of our healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform clerical tasks, such as filing, answering phones, and scheduling appointments.
  • Enter data into our Occupational Health Management system.
  • Establish and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Schedule and follow up on test results, procedures, and referrals to ensure timely healthcare.
  • Obtain clinical specimens and process them for testing.
  • Apply medical treatments, including splints, wraps, and other procedures under the direction of a healthcare provider.
  • Assist staff with health improvement initiatives and participate in HIP programs.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of experience in a medical setting.
  • Certificate in Medical Assisting or completion of a Medical Assistant course.
  • Phlebotomy certification desirable.
  • Computer experience.
Work Environment

This position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional movement to other offices or buildings. You may need to move light equipment or supplies and access files, supplies, and equipment. Work activity is generally in an office or clinical environment.

When working in a plant environment, you may be exposed to wet and moist floors, temperatures between 28 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and chemicals used in poultry and food processing. You must wear and use protective and safety equipment as directed.
