Job Title: Industrial Painter

XL Specialized Trailers is a leading manufacturer of custom heavy haul trailers, and we are seeking an experienced Industrial Painter to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Industrial Painter to perform a range of specialized coating projects, including applying prime coat paint and top coat paints using spray paint systems and pressure-pot spray systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate spray paint systems and pressure-pot spray systems to apply coatings to trailers and other equipment.
  • Work with solvents, cleaners, paints, and coatings to achieve high-quality finishes.
  • Move components using an overhead crane, following safe work habits.
  • Assist in prepping components, sanding, and reworking paint to ensure high-quality finishes.
  • Verify specifications by conducting self-inspections and notifying supervisors of any issues.
  • Document actions by completing production, quality, and time forms.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of industrial painting experience.
  • Proven ability to operate painting equipment.
  • Basic understanding of shop math.
  • Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and follow procedures.
  • Attention to quality and pride in workmanship.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is primarily performed indoors.
  • Extended periods of standing.
  • Frequent crouching, kneeling, bending, and stooping.
  • Occasional ascending/descending stairs or ladder.
  • Occasional pushing or pulling.
  • Ability to routinely lift 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
