Southeastern Orthopedic Center is seeking a PRN Surgical Technician to become a vital part of our team.
Position Overview:
- Prepare and organize the surgical suite with necessary instruments and tools
- Support surgeons throughout surgical procedures
- Maintain a sterile and safe environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up the operating room and collect essential supplies
- Assist in cleaning the room between surgical cases
- Sanitize surgical areas following each operation
- Monitor and manage surgical instruments and supplies
- Ensure compliance with A.O.R.N. standards
- Participate in instrument counts
- Handle surgical specimens appropriately
- Report any concerns or safety hazards
- Promote a collaborative team atmosphere
- Perform other assigned tasks as needed
Additional Responsibilities:
- Order medical supplies and maintain accurate records
- Uphold patient rights and confidentiality
- Engage in emergency preparedness drills
- Participate in ongoing professional development
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Attend mandatory training sessions
- Assist physicians with various clinical responsibilities
- Measure vital signs and conduct tests
- Support the surgical team under RN supervision
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program
Certification as a surgical technologist is preferred
