Job Summary

S & K Sales Co. is seeking a highly skilled Sales Merchandiser to join our team. As a Sales Merchandiser, you will be responsible for increasing sales and distribution of products in commissary stores within your assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales and Distribution: Sell in new item distribution on every call, ensuring orders are obtained for new items and commitments for adequate shelf space in proper locations.
  • Promotion Management: Sell in all upcoming promotions, obtaining orders for products and commitments for adequate floor/display space to maximize volume on all promotions.
  • Client Communication: Communicate clearly with clients, distributors, retailers, and buyers regarding product information, including prices, quantity, and warranty.
  • Product Placement: Ensure all products are placed in stores and properly shelved and displayed in all assigned accounts.
  • Price Management: Ensure proper pricing signs are in place on all products represented.
  • Inventory Management: Operate computer systems to record and invoice credits on markdowns and credits.
  • Distribution Management: Manage distribution of products through web-based reports.
  • Store Support: Work with store personnel to ensure all displays and shelves are stocked to the standards set by account managers and store managers.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Contractor Management: Hire and train new independent contractors.
  • Contractor Invoicing: Invoice payment for contractors.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and utilize 1010 data program and EIT Sales Distribution Data.
  • Mobile Application Management: Use and understand a variety of mobile applications to manage NIS and analyze sales trends and product initiatives.
Requirements
  • Sales Skills: Must possess effective selling skills and techniques.
  • Industry Knowledge: Possess knowledge of Military Commissary/Exchange Sales.
  • Communication Skills: Can communicate clearly with buyers, clients, and customers.
  • Merchandising Knowledge: Knowledge of grocery merchandising methodology.
  • Marketing Knowledge: Knowledge of grocery marketing methodology.
  • Language Skills: Must have good command of the English language, both orally and written.
  • Analytical Skills: Must have good analytical skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to work while standing for extended periods of time.
  • Cold Storage: Must be able to work in cold storage areas for extended periods of time.
  • Lifting Requirements: Must be able to repeatedly lift a minimum of 25lbs.
  • Travel Requirements: Overnight travel may be required.
Qualifications
  • Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Experience: 2 years of outside sales experience.
  • Education: High School education/GED required, Associate's/Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and web-based applications.
