OVERVIEW:To oversee designated production processes and products, performing evaluations in accordance with TreeNet Methods or Intelex controlled procedures to confirm that products fulfill all regulatory standards and customer specifications. This role necessitates teamwork with line Operators and Supervisors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. Other tasks may be assigned. All duties must be performed while adhering to Tree Top operational policies, safety regulations, and good manufacturing practices. It is the duty of every employee at Tree Top Inc. to report any food safety and quality concerns to authorized personnel.
Effective Communication:
- Report any out-of-specification checks or deviations from control limits to Supervisors and Line Operators, assisting in corrective measures.
- Relay process information to Supervisors and process line Operators.
- Inform Supervisors and QA Supervisors or QA Technical Services Managers of any laboratory equipment malfunctions.
Accurate Documentation:
- Retrieve customer specifications from M3 or TreeNet and reference TreeNet Methods or Intelex controlled procedures.
- Document and input analytical results into grade records and relevant software.
- Verify grade sheet data against customer specifications, identifying any out-of-specification items.
- Complete documentation according to Tree Top company standards, recording checks at the time they occur.
- Prepare necessary manifest and hold tickets as required.
Knowledge Maintenance:
- Demonstrate proficiency in performing all product evaluations accurately.
- Assist Quality Technician I on the assigned production line.
- Utilize appropriate procedures as per customer specifications.
- Inspect products and production lines to ensure compliance with GMPs/HACCP/PCHF.
- Encourage continuous improvement of processes.
- Learn new procedures and job-related information as necessary.
- Cross-train as needed to support Quality Assurance Technician I.
- Ensure testing accuracy through regular calibration of laboratory equipment.
Equipment and Material Utilization:
- Safely mix chemicals.
- Operate and calibrate laboratory equipment.
- Prepare necessary supplies for daily operations.
- Maintain a clean workspace during scheduled shifts and ensure cleanliness for subsequent shifts.
- Understand all production processes to assist in maximizing quality and efficiency while meeting customer specifications.
- Measure preservative levels in various stages of production as assigned.
Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and standards.
- Follow all Haz-Com and Chemical Safety protocols.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practice standards.
- Observe Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point procedures.
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions and acts to Supervisors.
- Comply with all other applicable safety regulations.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent; six months to one year of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English to interpret documents such as specifications and safety rules.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
- Ability to perform calculations involving proportions, percentages, and averages, as well as basic algebra.
- Regularly required to stand, use hands to handle objects, reach with hands and arms, and communicate.
- Frequently required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance and lift/move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision for paperwork and driving, distance vision for operating machinery, and color vision for product inspection.
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.
- Frequent work in high, precarious places and exposure to wet or humid conditions.
- Occasional work in extreme weather conditions and exposure to vibrations, toxic chemicals, and fumes.
- Noise levels in the work environment are typically loud.
