Job Summary

The Information Technology Systems Manager is responsible for the successful management of the site's information technology systems. This includes conducting computer and system updates, software updates, and minor hardware repairs. The IT Specialist will also install and set up new equipment, process systems rights authorizations, and provide IT technical support to site staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the site's IT systems, including computer and software updates
  • Install and set up new equipment, including hardware and software
  • Process systems rights authorizations and provide IT technical support to site staff
  • Assist students in adjusting to Center life, including supervision, behavior modification, counseling, and acting as a positive role model and mentor
  • Ensure that student needs are met in a timely and professional manner, with a focus on customer service
  • Prepare reports and forms, and document observations of students' behavior, performance, and progress
  • Maintain confidentiality and report significant events or situations immediately through approved channels
  • Facilitate prompt and appropriate assistance to students in the event of injury, illness, or emotional trauma
  • Ensure equipment and assigned work areas are clean and maintained in accordance with Center, CSD, and DOL standards
  • Provide information processing, systems counseling, training, and guidance to Center students and staff
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of computers, networks, peripherals, and software applications
  • Develop job aids, checklists, training materials, and resource materials for tasks performed in software applications
  • Provide individual and group instruction on the use of communications and computer equipment, software applications, and network features
  • Assist students and staff with application problems and respond to and resolve end-user technical problems
  • Perform system updates, set up new computer equipment, and conduct minor equipment repair or arrange for more complicated repairs
  • Act as a property custodian for excess computer and communication equipment
  • Process user application requests for Center staff with the data center and monitor staff separations with human resources to terminate access to government and company systems
  • Attend staff training sessions as required
Requirements
  • Minimum: Associates degree in computer technology and two years of experience in the field
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of higher education and professional experience, with one year of work-related experience and demonstrated knowledge/skills/abilities working with computers and software
Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware and software applications
  • Ability to obtain a state and/or commercial driver's license if required
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Good organization skills
  • Knowledge of basic training techniques
  • Ability to effectively relate to student population
  • Good presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multiple projects
  • Must obtain and maintain CPR/FA certification
